"Shut up! All of you. We danced. That is all, and mark this, if anyone breathe a word or the edge of a word about the other things, I will come to you in the black of some terrible night, and I will bring with me a pointy reckoning that will shudder you! And you know I can do it. I saw Indians smash my dear parents' heads on the pillow next to mine. And I have seen some reddish work done at night. And I can make you wish you had never seen the sun go down!"

The Beginning

Perfect time to start a diary, right? Horrible things have started happening. People have started being accused of witchery. Even Uncle Parris believes it. Ugh! Betty and I were dancing in the woods a few nights ago. Uncle Parris found out and says he saw someone naked. It was me, but I lied and said he didn’t see anything. Tituba was singing her Barbados songs and we danced. It wasn’t witchcraft. I mean, we were just dancing, right? I also talked to John Proctor. I love him so much and I know he feels the same way. That evil Elizabeth is in the way, and so are her children. I told him my feelings, but he didn’t return them. I know he loves and cares about me. John’s married to a wench named Elizabeth and has two children. That didn’t stop us from being together. I was working as a servant in their house and that’s how we fell in love. Elizabeth ended up finding out and kicked me out of the house. I hate her. I wish John would open up his heart to me and leave Elizabeth.
